How long have you been at YFC?
I have been on staff with YFC for twenty-three years now as of January 2020. Before that I volunteered at Eaton county for almost two years.

Why are you doing student ministry in the Lansing area?
I started just volunteering at Eaton county once a month on detention side only. Joana De Wolf was on staff at the time and asked me about volunteering. When Joanna was leaving to pursue her Master’s degree she asked me about taking over her position. It took me by surprise to say the very least. But here I am twenty-three years later still loving incarcerated teens.

Who is in your family?
I’ve been married to Jon for forty-eight years as of this February 2020. We have two children. Nikki, and Jon. We have five grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

What do you enjoy doing?
I love to write, read, set by a beach, and bike ride.

Favorite sports teams?
I always pick MSU for March Madness.

Favorite place to eat?
Stillwater Grill. I only get there about once a year. They have steak tips that are amazing.

Favorite TV show or book?
At this time, it’s Hallmark Channel's “When Calls the Heart.” "Chronicles of the Kings" by Lynn Austin, which is about King Hezekiah and his son, Manasseh. Also a series called "Dahveed" by Terri Fivash, the story of King David’s life starting as a child. I loved both series.
